Galaxy NGC1005 in Cetus

This is an Sb type barred spiral galaxy that is part of the group of galaxies containing M77. bright and compact spiral galaxy. It can be seen edge on with a dust lane splitting its halves.

If you move the mouse over this galaxy, it will show you its environs which also contain NGC1055 and (barely visible) NGC1072.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.
