The planet Mars

The fifth planet from the sun. Discovered by the ancients.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D using eyepiece projections with a 13.8 mm eyepiece.

100 1/200th second exposures cropped, aligned and stacked in ImagesPlus 2.75 Beta 2c. The focus on this image could be improved somewhat and the exposures should have been a bit longer. Still, the south polar cap is visible as are some surface markings.
