Spiral galaxy M83 in Hydra

This is one of the 25 brightest galaxies in the skies. It is, however, pretty far south. This galaxy lies at a distance of about 10 million light years and has a diameter of about 30,000 light years.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 3 minute exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75 beta 2.

Note, this object was going down over the horizon as I imaged it. It never gets too high and some trees also get in the way. This might be a redo at a dark sky site. There is also quite a bit of star trailing in this image.
