Globular Cluster M70 in Saggitarius

A small globular cluster discovered in 1780. This cluster is near M69 in the sky but is much closer in distance. It likely lies at a distance of 65,000 light years. The full diameter of M70 is about 80 light years.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 1 minutes exposures dark, bias, and flat compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75 beta 2c.
