Globular Cluster M56 in Lyra

A sparse globular cluster located about 46,000 light years away. This cluster has a diameter of about 60 light years. No real significant central condensation.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Three 1 minute exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.10
