M52/NGC7654 Open Cluster

Fine open cluster M52 in Cassiopeia

A rich and compressed cluster containing some 200 stars around 5000 light years away. The diameter is around 10-15 light years.

If you hold the mouse over this image, you will also see the Planetary Nebula NGC7635 (15.0' x 8.0' and magnitude 11.0) in upper right corner. This is also known as the Bubble nebula. See the NGC list for more information and a larger image.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Fifteen 3 minutes exposures dark, flat, and bias compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75 beta 2c.
