Open Cluster M47 in Puppis

This is a bright open star cluster lying near M46 in the same constellation. The distance to this group is likely around 1540 light years and it has a diameter of around 17 light years. It likely contains around 45 stars.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted Losmandy G11 with Gemini. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.
