Open cluster M38 in Auriga

A large scattered open cluster containing some 100 stars. The distance to this cluster is about 4200 light years and its diameter is about 25 light years.

Note the open cluster NGC1907 in the upper right hand corner of this image.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.
