M24 Small Sagittarius Star Cloud

M24 Small Milky Way Star Cloud in Sagittarius

This is a cloud of stars aout 560 light years in diameter. It measures about 2 deg x 1 deg.

Note the smaller star cluster NGC6603 in the lower portion of the image and the dark areas B92 and B93 just above the star lane.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used with a 200mm f2.8L II USM lens at f2.8.

Five 1 minutes exposures dark, flat, and bias compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75 beta 2c.
