M19/NGC6273

The globular cluster M19 in Ophiuchus

A very oblate globular cluster close to the galactic hub. The distance from the center of the galaxy to this cluster is about 3000 light years and the cluster is around 25,000 light years from earth.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 1 minute exposures dark, flat, and bias compensated; aligned and stacked; background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75 beta 1.
