Globular Star Cluster M14 in Ophiuchus

One of the globular clusters without a sharp central condensation. This is a rather remote cluster lying at a distance of about 70,000 light years. This gluster is likely red and less bright due to a large amount of absorbtion by dust near the galactic center.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 1 minute exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.50.
