Globular Cluster M12 in Ophiuchus

A bright and fairly loose globular cluster. The distance to M12 is estimated to be about 20,000 light years. and its diameter is about 220 light years. M12 is likely about 2000 light years from M10 and each cluster would appear to be about magnitude 2 from the other cluster.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 1 minute exposures dark, flat, and bias compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed, Digitaly Developed, and LR sharpened in ImagesPlus 2.50 beta 9.
