Galaxy M109 in Ursa Major

This galaxy is not of of the original 104 Messier objects. and Burnham's has very little information on it. It does show many obscuring dust masses.

If you put the mouse over this image, you will also see the owl nebula M197 (and, just barely, the galaxy NGC3594).

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Five 3 minutes exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.10.
