The planet Jupiter The fifth planet from the sun. Discovered by the ancients. In this Jupiter image, you can see the great red spot on the right side. Just below this, you can see what is known as Red Junior. This image was also taken just as Io started across the face of Jupiter. It can be seen as the bump at the left of the image. Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used with a 4x Powermate and a Scopetronix MaxPower II (a 1.6x Barlow type lens) at prime focus. Fifty 1/25th second exposures cropped, aligned and stacked in ImagesPlus 2.75 Beta 1. |
