Open cluster and nebulosity IC1396 in Cepheus.
This is a very large patch of nebulosity with associated clusters in Cepheus. This region also has several noticable dark clouds including one dalled the elephant's trunk. The very bright red star near the bottom of the nebulosity is magnitude 4.08 mu Cehpi also known as the garnet star.
Images taken with a Canon 20D and a 200 mm f2.8 lens piggybacked on a TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount.
Twelve 3 minute exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.75.
