Open cluster M50 in Monoceros

A fine open cluster consisting of a moderately compressed group of 200 stars. While the distance to this cluster is not well known, it is estimated to be around 2900 light years and the diameter of the cluster is estimated to be 9 light years.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.
