Open Cluster M29 in Cygnus

A small indistinguished star cluster lying at a distance of about 7200 light years with a diameter of about 15 light years.

M29 lies in a heavily obscured (with interstellar dust) area of the galaxy and if it could be seen without the dust, it would likely be rather striking.

Images taken with TEC-140 Telescope mounted on Losmandy G11 mount. Camera used was a Canon EOS20D used at prime focus.

Three 1 minute exposures dark compensated, aligned and stacked, background removed and Digitaly Developed in ImagesPlus 2.10 beta 5.
